Fair enough, 3 extra damage is a clear advantage. Not ever competition in this world takes place between 2 (or more) perfectly matched competitors. This can be done using tactics and strategies that said opponent does not expect to see, or is unprepared for.

Perhaps Rich = Access to more maybe even better weapons. But that still doesn't = absolute victory.

I am stupid to think someone could earn 5,000 ecto.

I'll just go do that right now. Lets see... if I make a 55 monk and solo run UW about.. oh I dont know 4,000 times... that takes about 2 hours each time. I will have 5,000 ecto in no time. OR I could just go to the desert and run people to mission spots for tips... making about half the cost of 1 ecto each time if im lucky. I'll have 5,000 of them in no time. And as for the "teaching other people things" Yeah, thats not taking advantage of anyone at all.

I never said for sure that they hacked them, I just said they didnt earn them like most people earn theirs. It took me since the game came out of playing the game almost every day to earn the ectos and and money I have now and its 200 of them, and I half the money that person has.

Im the stupid one though, 5,000 ectos is possible to aquire the honest hard earned way. Please forgive me.

Dude I know for a fact someone who has way over 5000 ectos and he did not: -
*Farm
*Scam
*Ebay
*Ecto price reset

Also several of my friends have wealth in the 5 million plus area and did none of the above. Or farm in excess. You cant seem to figure out there are actually fair ways of earning it and it reaks of jealousy. Nef openly admits what items he is in pursession of and they could be in the 5000 ecto area. Calm down and actually know what your talking about next time you decide to call people liers or question their statements

Those massive amounts of ectos was acquired when anet reset the economy.. in that short brief moment, ectos was about 200g ea.. IIRC. Being at the right place at the right time can make all the difference.

Lol why do you keep mentioning farming as if its the only way to make gold. Just go to the high end forum and you will see people selling thousands of cany canes. Now if someone bought 2000 when they were dirt cheap and sold for nearly 1k each a couple of million would be made. I personally know people who have done this. They have busy lives, dont farm or abuse the game in any way, they just use their heads. If you know what some of the items selling in the high end forum for 5 million plus were bought for you would be sickened. I have not even touched on the other ways which have made people millions. Quit denying there are people with masses amounts of wealth who earnt it fairly as there are and I am certain others would agree. You have to actually think to amass large amounts of wealth fairly or be very very lucky.

Mako, what don't you understand about this? One decent drop in HoH can net you over 5 million, easy. A GOOD drop can get much more, there have been Crytallines and Dwarvens dropped there worth over 20 million. I still love seeing that ecto picture, it would be so cool being that person.

Does it really matter?

You can only use one weapon at a time and have another 3 on switch, so until the new update 16 is the max amount you can use.

What weapon in the game is worth spending more than you can aquire on?

After you get the "perfect" weapons(s), and your armor then what? After that you have to either give money away or start hoarding gems,shards, ectos, materials etc. And even then you are at the mercy of the economy. Ecto were worth roughly half what they used to be, they have since edged up to about 70/75% of what they used to be worth. So a guy that had 100 ecto in Dec had about 1 to 1.2 million worth, now they are worth 700-750K.

Even those so called superb items. They have greatly decreased in value. With the influx of so many greens and so many gold near perfect weapons, the uber perfect ones are not nearly as sought after except by collectors who basically just swap money back and forth.

Once a person sells that uber Crystaline then what is he going to get with the money? SInce he just sold the most expensive and "best" item in the game what can replace it? Also since he probably bought it in the first place, he surely already had a lot of money to begin with.

People just get lost in this game within the game. Pretty ridiculous to me. Money is replaceable, and you can go out and make as much gold as you want in no time. Then trade up. Just depends on what you buy and when you buy it. So go kill a couple dozen griffons and "make" an ecto. Wash rinse repeat.

Personally I am waiting for the new game to buy some desent armor to spend what "wealth" I have accumulated. Unless some major league weapons come out I don't have a need for anything "better" than what I already have outfitted. But since any new weapons would either be "overpowered" or need to be adjusted some how I don't see it happening.

We have already seen the uproar with the new shields. I doubt that can of worms will be opened widespread. But who knows.

Im definately not the richest but thats only cuz im not lucky. I've never got a godly wep or an expensive rune, my stack is 100% gold drops and merchanted items. (Only been to UW once with a group and i didnt get an ecto at all) as for Fow I go there alot and I get some shards but i sell them because in my opinion FoW armor is a serious waste of money.

U might not wanna do that just yet..

I tried the same stuff before and bought a pile of ecto's @ 9.5 / 10k a piece.. Thinking 10k was cheap and to me it was just a matter of time before the would be up to 12k again... A nice and clean way to make some profit..

After a few weeks if got a lil scared since the prices of my babies were dropping like mad..

My 1000k finally went to 700k
I tell ya that's not the way to gather more wealth..

Invest in Ruby's or Saphire.. The value seems to be much more stable..
